For the second year in a row, the Davenport Men's Hockey team made its way into the ACHA Division II National Championship Game, but this time they were able to come out on top as the Panthers defeated Indiana University 5-2. The win is the first National Championship of any kind for a Davenport team after beginning the athletic program just six years ago. I watched the game online with the boys (Dad was there in Florida). How exciting to have our University team as National Champions!
On another note, the top-seated team in Harrison's play-offs lost again yesterday - leaving Harrison's team and another tied for first. Therefore, the outcome of the game today no longer matters. Harrison's team will play tomorrow for the championship!

Wow. Congratulations to both Davenport's team (er, Dad's team!) and Harrison's team. Way to go, guys!
